Hire Purchase
The most straight forward finance option. Simply put, the price of the vehicle is spread across a term of your choice to allow you to obtain a fixed monthly payment. Once the term is up, the vehicle is yours. No limit on deposit, the term is usually between 24 to 60 months, however can be tailored depending on the vehicle or individual.
Personal Contract Purchase
A very popular choice especially with newer vehicles. Why so popular? It allows you to purchase a vehicle with a higher list price than you could potentially afford on a HP agreement. This is due to there being a Balloon payment at the end, which is determined by the GFV (Guaranteed Future Value). This value is based on your annual mileage and length of the agreement. At the end of the agreement, the vehicle can either be owned by settling the Balloon payment, returned to the finance company or Part Exchanged for another vehicle.
